The things you see are what to be, lost and never found
See, people are like the Tower of Babel. They aspire to reach their gods and become god themselves. What happened to the tower in the end? It collapsed, because people wanted so much out of it. The world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams.
Rumor has it in the dark
And lonely places of the world,
Where the alleys reek of sadness
People tell a tale untold
A lonesome figure wanders on
Old as Time that hangs around
A serpent sorcerer that steals the light
A vile vermin that leaves you spellbound
In stars and galaxies he prays
For the everlasting night
To earth his ghastly bane unleashes
From his throne he makes us fight
Suddenly in the burning sky
Far above the mountains in the East
A single light hangs unwavering
A ray of Sun kills the beast
The sorcerer faded away
His corpse sank in the mire
One last glipse of us he caught
Our eyes had become sparks of fire
Even the gods of countless religions
Hold no powers against this tide
Of degeneration because we have now found
That there is no throne up there in the sky
- Thomas Forsberg
The Tower of Babel was another one failed quest for happiness. Our quest for happiness is not yet another Tower of Babel.
